Moroni 8-9

Study question:
What does it mean to you to be “alive in Christ”?

Summary:
The baptism of little children is an evil abomination. Little children are alive in Christ because of the Atonement. Faith, repentance, meekness and lowliness of heart, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end lead to salvation. Both the Nephites and the Lamanites are depraved and degenerate. Mormon prays that grace and goodness may rest upon Moroni forever.

Scripture:
Moroni 9:25
“My son, be faithful in Christ; and may not the things which I have written grieve thee, to weigh thee down unto death; but may Christ lift thee up, and may his sufferings and death, and the showing his body unto our fathers, and his mercy and long-suffering, and the hope of his glory and of eternal life, rest in your mind forever.”

Rachael D: I love family history and I’m very grateful that I understand the plan of salvation. I find the doctrine in Moroni 8 about little children is very comforting. I feel joy when I find missing children who died as infants and are not recorded on a census. It is such a blessing to be able to go to the temple and seal them to their parents and know that they are alive in Christ. I like Moroni 9, where Mormon tells Moroni to labour diligently and not cease because we have work to do whist we are here. I feel this way about family history and temple work, it is wonderful doctrine and we have a work to do.
