Helaman 1-3

Study Question:
How does contention weaken nations and communities? wards and stakes? families and individuals? What can we do to avoid or overcome contention?

Pahoran dies and his two sons are consecutively killed. Coriantumr takes Zarahemla, but Moronihah takes it back and Coriantumr is killed. Kishkumen attempts to kill the new chief judge, Helaman, but his plan is discovered by a servant of Helaman who kills him. Many Nephites migrate North and tens of thousands are baptized.

Helaman 3:27
“Thus we may see that the Lord is merciful unto all who will, in the sincerity of their hearts, call upon his holy name.”

Rachael D: Helaman 2:13 says that Gadianton caused the destruction of the Nephites. I was thinking about Abinadi’s testimony and the rest (majority) of the Book of Mormon was written by Alma’s line. One person can have great influence for strengthening or weakening others. Sometimes I think we underestimate the difference we can make.
