Study question: What can we learn about Melichizedek in Chapter 13?
Zeezrom, caught in a lie, listens to Alma. Sin is punished by a lack of the companionship of the spirit. Because of the atonement all mankind will be resurrected. The righteous may have eternal life. We are to be judged according to our words, works and thoughts. High priests (and what we’d identify today as the Melchizedek priesthood) duties are given to faithful, service oriented people. It is prophesied that angels will declare the birth of the saviour.
Alma 13: 27
“And now, my brethren, I wish from the inmost part of my heart, yea, with great anxiety even unto pain, that ye would hearken unto my words, and cast off your sins, and not procrastinate the day of your repentance;”
Rachaed D: It mentions several time in Alma 13 that the order of the Son/ high priesthood was prepared before this world was created. It’s not often we read about the pre-mortal life. It also says several times that these priesthood holders have exceeding faith, they repent and choose to do good works. We are very lucky to have the priesthood holders in our lives.
