Study Question: How does reading this account make you think about Christ’s second coming?
God’s voice introduces the Saviour. Christ descends and invites the people to feel the nail prints in his resurrected body. He teaches His gospel, because the law of Moses has been fulfilled. He calls many to serve, including 12 apostles. Disciples should take care of the poor and needy. Christ teaches the people how to pray, and teaches other commandments.
3 Nephi 11:14
“Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world.”
Rachael D: 3 Nephi 11 is a beautiful chapter. It would be have been amazing to have been there when you hear the Father introduce his Son, seeing Christ descend out of heaven, hearing Christ introduce himself. I love verse 15 where they each got to go up and feel of the prints in his hands and feet. How would this make me feel about the atonement, would I really understand it was for me. Later on he teaches them about the sacrament, I wonder if this would mean more to then having felt the marks for themselves.
